Theraputic Approaches Used in Session
Cognative Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It helps people identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop practical strategies to manage challenges, improve coping skills, and create positive change in daily life.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps people build a more flexible relationship with their thoughts and emotions. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult feelings, ACT focuses on acceptance, mindfulness, and taking meaningful action guided by personal values.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy views people as separate from their problems. It helps individuals explore and reshape the stories they tell about their lives, highlighting strengths, values, and alternative perspectives that support growth and empowerment.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
IFS is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own thoughts, feelings, and roles. Therapy focuses on understanding and unburdening these parts, while strengthening the core Self, a calm, compassionate inner presence, to support healing, balance, and lasting change.
Meditation
Meditation is a practice that supports mental clarity, emotional balance, and self-awareness. Through guided or self-led practices, meditation helps calm the mind, reduce stress, and develop a more mindful and compassionate relationship with thoughts and feelings.
Breathwork
Breathwork uses guided breathing techniques to support emotional regulation, stress reduction, and overall wellbeing. By working with the breath, clients can calm the nervous system, increase body awareness, and add to their toolkit for grounding and resilience.
